Hong Kong has a small but incredibly diverse independent music scene, encompassing music in both the English and Chinese languages. As music in Hong Kong has long been dominated by the Cantonese Pop establishment, the independent scene has developed fairly recently. It started to evolve in the 1990s and early 2000s and is only truly beginning to fluorish with groups such as ChochukmoKing Ly Chee and My Little Airport achieving mainstream success and the inception of the burgeoning Clockenflap festival.
